Cayuga Heights Elementary
|
In October of each year, we visit Cayuga Heights Elementary Depew, NY grades K - 5 to teach fire prevention. The younger children learn not to be afraid of fire fighters by dressing up and seeing us in full gear. They also find out about E.D.I.T.H.
Children in the older grades are challenged to understand the science of fire and a game of Fire Safety Jeopardy.
Several children are also randomly selected for a ride to school on a fire truck!
Teachers and students watched fire prevention videos, reviewed what they learned about E.D.I.T.H, played the 'Dum-Dum' sucker fire prevention game and received packettes to take home to remind them of what they learned. We even had the chance to participate in 2 fire drills held that day. |
